How to Get to Troy from Istanbul

Step 1: Travel to Çanakkale by Intercity Bus

  • Take a long-distance bus from Istanbul’s Esenler Otogar to Çanakkale (approx. 4–5 hours).
  • Upon arrival at the Çanakkale bus terminal, take a local city bus to the city center. The city bus stop is on the opposite side of the terminal exit.
  • You can pay with a contactless credit card or buy a ticket from the cafeteria inside the terminal (approx. 30 TL as of May 2025).

Step 2: From Çanakkale to Troy (Approx. 30 km)

Option 1: Minibus (Dolmuş) – Most Popular and Budget-Friendly

  • Be sure to check departure times in advance, as buses may run only a few times per day.
  • Go to the “Minibus Garaj” under Atatürk Bridge.
  • Take a minibus heading to Tevfikiye (ask for “Truva”).

  • Tell the driver “Truva” to get dropped off right in front of the ruins.

Option 2: Taxi – More Comfortable and Time-Saving
