But actually, it&#8217;s possible to get there on your own using public transportation from major cities like Istanbul.<br>In this guide, we&#8217;ll explain in detail\u2014with photos\u2014how to reach Pamukkale and how to get around once you&#8217;re there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where is Pamukkale?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pamukkale is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Denizli Province, western Turkey. It&#8217;s famous for its white travertine terraces and the ancient ruins of Hierapolis.<br>The unique landscape, with hot springs flowing over the white terraces next to ancient ruins, draws visitors from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nearest city is Denizli, and you can get there from Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and other major cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Get to Pamukkale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Denizli is the main hub for visiting Pamukkale.<br>You can get there by bus from cities like Izmir (around 4 hours), Sel\u00e7uk (about 3 hours), or Ankara (about 6 hours). Make sure the destination says <strong>\u201cOtogar\u201d<\/strong> before boarding.<br>A staff member will collect payment after departure\u2014just say &#8220;Denizli Otogar&#8221; and pay in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"swell-block-balloon\"><div class=\"c-balloon -bln-left\" data-col=\"gray\"><div class=\"c-balloon__body -speaking -border-none\"><div class=\"c-balloon__text\">\n<p>The bus usually departs after most passengers have exited the airport. <span class=\"swl-marker mark_yellow\">If you want to sit together with someone, it\u2019s best to head out quickly and grab seats early.<\/span><\/p>\n<span class=\"c-balloon__shapes\"><span class=\"c-balloon__before\"><\/span><span class=\"c-balloon__after\"><\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Denizli Otogar to Pamukkale &amp; Karahay\u0131t (Minibus \/ Dolmu\u015f)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From<strong> the Basement floor<\/strong> of the Otogar, shared minibuses (dolmu\u015f) run toward Pamukkale and Karahay\u0131t.<br>Look for minibuses with signs like <strong>\u201cPamukkale Karahay\u0131t\u201d<\/strong>.<br>They stop at the center of Pamukkale Village, the north gate of the Pamukkale ruins, and continue to the hot spring town of Karahay\u0131t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Travel time: About 30 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fare: Around 30\u201350 TL (depending on the destination)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note: The minibus departs once full.
