※But it is better to avoid to stay to the event day like 1th May and 31th December, because the area around the taksim square will be closed.

You can go these hotels just only by taxi.
Both are resort hotels in nature, so there is nothing nearby.

If you stay here, You have no choice to go to shopping to a supermarket or restaurant out of hotel.You can just enjoy nature.

And if you want to go anywhere you must call taxi so you have to wait a few or more minutes.

Mecidiyeköy area

Mecidiyeköy is just 2 metro stops from the Taksim Square, and there are 2 bus lines from Istanbul airport. One is Havaist（37km 60dk 16TL）and another one is local bus (H2 Line 5.2TL). And also you can go the asian side by Metrobus.

So Mecidiyeköy is a very convenient area.
The metro to the istanbul airport will also starts from here a few years later.

But becouse of a convenient area, there are so many people always and traffic jams.
And to nearest hotels from Mecidiyekoy bus stop, it takes about 5-10 minutes by walk.(Taxi may not want to bring you these nearest hotels)

So if you have some heavy baggages, it is too difficult to go hotel by Airport bus and walk.You have to better to go by taxi from the istanbul airport.

Sultanahmet area

It takes about 60-100dk 18TL (52km) from Istanbul airport to Istanbul old city (Sultanahmet area) by Havaist.

Sultanahmet area is the most popular sightseeing area in Istanbul, so you can enjoy atmosphere of old istanbul when you just walk in this area.
But …

1-It takes time to move.
2-you have to walk from the bus stop to hotels in this area.
3-There are so many people and crowded.
4-Sometimes there are some people who aimed at tourists.

for these reason, it seems not easy to stay just for a transit at sultanahmet area’s hotel.
