In the new Istanbul airport, Luggage storage service is provided at the arrival floor and there are lockers at the departure floor.
Lockers @ the new Istanbul airport
Lockers are located at the both corners in entrance side of the departure floor,
it means near the A check in counter and S check in counter.
Although it is hard to understand in the photo, there are enough to depth.
There are 2 size lockers at the departure floor. One is for cabin size suit case and another is for the big luggage.
Small locker is 40 TL for first 12 hours, after that +40TL for every 24 hours.
Big locker is 60 TL for first 12 hours, after that +60 TL for every 24 hours.

It seems little difficult to find because they are located to back side from the wall.

One is next to “Turkish Airline hotel booking counter” (it’s near the Exit 14) and another is the end of the right side(near the Exit 8).

For example … If you leave your luggage at 15:00 in the daytime, it will be 36TL until 15:00 the next day.

But if you leave your baggage more than 1 day, it will be better to tell them when you will pick up your baggage.

Yes,of course you can leave your baggage but it will better to tell them when you will pick up it.

At the luggage storage, you must pay fee for per bag.
(36x3x3=324TL)
But at the locker, if you can put 2 or 3 bags in one locker, you just pay one box fee.
(40*small locker x3=120TL)
So if I was in your situation and have to leave my 3 small bags at the luggage storage, I will bring a big one empty plastic bag and put them all into it.

It depends on the size of your luggages.
It is not important how heavy it is.
If you can put them in one small locker you will pay 80TL(40TL for first 12 hours and 40TL for second 24 hours), if you have to put them in one big locker you must pay 120TL(60TL+60TL).

L133cm x H94cm x W50CM. Can I store this in the airport and how much would it cost? I’m arriving on an international carrier but leaving the next day on a domestic flight. Will the storage be located strategically between the international arrivals and domestic departure?

So you can leave your baggage at the luggage storage on the arrival floor.
Arrival floor of istanbul airport is just down floor of departure floor.
So you can easily take them to domestic departure floor.
I guess if you have 10 minutes it’s enough to pick it up.

You don’t need to book ahead. There are enough vacant space and they do not have online booking system.

You can’t put your bicycles on their boxes but you can leave them there.

You can leave your luggage more than 48 hours.
However, it is better to tell them when you will be picked up in advance.

They don’t have only box space but also enough space inside. so I think you don’t have to worry about it at all.
Istanbul airport are waiting more flights and visitors so they ready to it.
I can’t image that their space will be occupied even most busy season like new year.

You can leave them at luggage strage in the istanbul airport arrival floor.

so it will cost 36TLx30days =1080TL per bags.
I asked them and they said you can leave your luggage 1 month.It doesn’t seem unusuall for them.
But maybe it’s better that you inform them the day you will come to pick up your luggages.
The lockers as I understand accept lira only.

I asked the staff of them. If you pay 60TL for 100TL, you can get change, but it doesn’t accept 200TL.
But in my opinion it is better it you can pay just your cost with 10TL or 20TL or 50TL.

About difference of the luggage storage and locker , it’s up to you.
I think the luggage storage is more useful and low cost. But if I leave my luggage at the luggage storage, I lock my luggage enough because they sometime keep it in opening space.

I will carry a backpack which has a used laptop and some new clothes and i want to keep them in the locker at Istanbul new airport so that my brother who is in Istanbul at the moment would come and pick it up and travel with it. Is this possible? does the locker generate a code or a card?how can my brother open the locker and get the bag ? thanks!
I guess it is better for you to leave your baggages to luggage storage.
Because you can tell them what you want them to do.
Anyway at locker and luggage storage, you will get a receipt or something by paper.So you take its photo and you can send it to your brother who want to get your baggages. (But I don’t sure that you need to original receipt with locker)

Just some feedback on the locker after my experience. I was leaving Istanbul for Athens for 2 nights but returning back to Istanbul and had a small duffel bag and a plastic bag that I didn’t want to take with me. First, I tried the self service lockers by the check in counter S. Both bags fit into the smaller locker at 40 TL for the first 12 hours and then 40 TL for the next 24 hours. As it was at 9am in the morning and I wouldn’t be returning until 5pm 48 hours later, my total would have been 120 TL (so first 40 until 9pm that night, then 2 x 24 hour blocks). I followed the instructions and started feeding cash, 10 TL x 2 and then 100 TL but then it stopped taking the money, in fact gave me back 80 TL and asked me to key in a PIN, which I did. I thought this was odd and concerned that the locker would auto unlock after 12 hours so I called the number for assistance. The guy who came over said that you can only pay for the first 12 hours and then you had to come back and pay for more time. So it seems you can’t purchase more than 12 hours, impractical if you’re not able to get to the airport to buy more time. This wasn’t what I was after so I opened the locker and forfeited what I’d paid.
So the only option left for me was the other left luggage service which was manned by a person, which was directly downstairs in the international arrivals level (the lift is by #7). The prices are correct, but while both my small duffel and plastic bag fit inside a small locker, they still charged me for a small bag and plastic bag. So 36 TL + 27 TL for 3 x 24 hours, total is 189 TL when I pick it up. The guy behind the counter gave me the reciept and once he put my things in the locker, he gave me the locker key as well. Not the cheapest service, but you do pay for the convenience, I guess.

There are enough space and you can’t book it in advance.
But in your case it is better for you to leave your luggage to luggage storage.

Hi, we are going to spend three days in Istambul on the way to Kuala Lumpur.
We have to take some warm clothes and then we don’t want to take them to Kaula Lumpur. However, on the way back from Kuala to Warsaw we have a change at IST. Do I have to leave the transit area to pick up my suitcase from the luggage room?
Luggage storage is located on arrival floor in Istanbul Airport.
So if you want to leave your luggage to luggage storage, you have to leave transit area to get your luggage.(You have to enter Turkey to get your luggage)
